It is so important that you get your eyes and lips just right, not too much and not too little. Here are some handy tips to help make your daily routine quicker and easier.
Start by checking your eyebrows and keep them plucked so that they suit your eye and face shape. Or if you have any grey hairs they can be dyed and trimmed to take away from the white eyebrow look that can be ageing. If you have any gaps or they are too short you can fill them in and elongate them.
I like eyebrows to look groomed but still feminine rather than hard or very thick.
Whatever you do with the eyes you should still look approachable with a hint of sophistication and glamour but never too over the top especially not for work. Eyebrows should be softly arched and naturally elongated with any gaps filled in. New Cid Cosmetics i-groom £15.50
New Cid Cosmetics have an award winning eye pencil and eyeliner product in one…it is really great so you can use the pencil in the day and add the liquid liner for the evening, i-flick £18.50
If you want the softly blended eye pencil look then you can use Maggie Hunt No.14 brush (£10) to blend any eye pencil or build up then blend for a smokey look.
Eyelashes can be built up with mascara then reapplied to give the long and almost false eyelash effect. There are many brilliant mascaras available and this time I used the great, ‘Collection 2000, Volume Sensation Mascara’ £4.99.
Collection 2000 is available from Boots & Superdrug, on line or stores nationwide. If you like the combed through non cloggy and non spidery mascara look then use Maggie Hunt No. 9 Mascara brush & comb, £5.
Lips can be softly defined and accentuated with a pencil and then a lipstick or gloss applied to enhance your features so that you look feminine. The colour of lip liner, lipstick and gloss should be chosen wisely to suit your style and lip shape.
Some women don’t like lipstick or gloss so a lip balm can be used instead. A lip liner is not always necessary and many women don’t like using a lip liner but if you desire more voluptuous lips then why not use the famous MAC ‘Spice’ Lip Pencil, £10.
If you go a little too heavy handed on your lip liner or you like the lip liner to not look visible but you would like fuller lips then dip a clean lip brush or Maggie Hunt No.1 brush in foundation and blend the line from the inside towards the outer line.
Apply Benefit ‘Silky Finish Lipstick’ in Swoonderful, £14, with Maggie Hunt No.11 Lip Brush. If you have dry lips it may be better not to use a lip liner but to keep them moist with a lip balm or a nourishing lip gloss so why not try the Beauty Bible award winning, Anti-ageing i-gloss by New Cid Cosmetics.
